Easy does it!

Here is a very quick card I made, quick but I like how it turned out especially since the one of the components is free. Can you guess which one it is?

The flowers ! They are taken from the free Nitwit Collection in Simply Cards and Papercrafts. Just love their images.

Carry me home...

My Penny Black entry for week 119 is also a commissioned card for a Birthday.

Paper roses by The Works
Hilary by Bazill Basics
Brown Cardstock
'Wonderful' clear stamp set by Penny Black
Faber Kastell water colours
Greetings by Papermania

Tools:

Die Cutting machine

Tip: I used a compass to draw the pink circle as the outer part of the nestie was a bit too big and covered the scalloped one.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 109

My mojo is back! These fab Olivia papers by Basic Grey definitely did the trick. I just love all the different designs. What I realized is that I find it so difficult to open a new pack of papers, stamps, embellishments and ruin them. Do you know what I mean? My heart sinks with every brad or flower I use. I think the problem lies in the fact that I can't pop round to a craft shop so easily as Ihave to go to our sister island, the UK or on an online shopping spree and if I do that I know I will be spending a lot of money on postage, urgh.

The first time I set foot in a brick and mortar craft shop was in the Netherlands called Pipoos, and oh mice, they thought I was plain crazy but I'm sure the salesgirls loved me spending about 100 Euros in one hour. I guess that's what happens when you feel deprived of something. Enough talk and down to business now with my take on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge following Beth's sketch.

Materials:

Olivia papers and flowers by Basic Grey
Wonderful by Penny Black
Green ribbbon by Anita's
Mini brads by Doodlebug
Chalks by Pebbles Inc.
Peel Off sentiment
Black and White Acrylic Paint
Rhinestones (one of my very first purchases at Pipoos)
Edging Scissors

Tools:

Die Cutting Machine
Latches by sizzix

Have a Great Day!

Lately, I seem to be making only cards that have been commissioned. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time for playing even though I managed to do some serious damage to my bank account. I have been spending more time shopping than actually making cards. I'll come back later with some photos.

But here is the card I made for a colleague's special someone. I am really pleased with the colour scheme and the sizzix die cut is so cute. The prima flowers is also gorgeous, don't you think?

Photo Card and Chipboard Tutorial

So here I am again with a first. Today I am posting a card using two techniques: using photos on the card and making chipboard flowers. Another first is the video tutorial I made (so please be kind as you always have been lol!) showing how I made the flowers from beginning to end. I spent more time experimenting on the movie editor and filming than I did on the card so I hope it was worth it and that some people find it useful. (Image blurred for data protection reasons)

Materials not mentioned in the video are:

Bo Bunny papers
Martha Stewart punch - Frond

I must thank my dear husband and a friend of mine who took the roles of producer and cameraman respectively, lol it was so funny (in fact you might hear me chuckle as I was making the video and by the way, that noise in the background is not my hubby snoring but the automatic zooming of the camera, hehe).

Friday Sketcher's 79

Just a quick post as I'm dead tired today - a card I made following the sketch on Friday Sketcher's:

Will try to add some details to this post tomorrow.

Here is a the first quilted card I made. Have been eyeing these beauties for a while but only lately have I tried to make my own. I made this for a friend of mine and as always it was quite a last minute make. My husband took the pictures for me and must apologize if it is not so clear. Let me know what you think as always...

A Splurge of Colour!

Today I am sharing a card a colleague of mine commissioned - it had to ooze youth and I tried to achieve this by using a burst of colours.
Materials:
Birthday Collection from Do crafts
Anita's Card Blank
Melon - Core'dinations
Peel offs - Birthday Sentiments
Permanent Black Marker
Gem Stones

Tools:
Die Cutting Machine
Sizzix Birthday Sizzlits
Craft File
Edging Scissors

How to:
  1. Cut a panel from pink card stock to cover the card blank.
  2. Trim another panel measuring 8.5 by 8.5 cm from the same sheet, using the flower patterned paper.
  3. Draw a circle from the Melon Core'dinations and cut using scalloped edges scissors.
  4. Die cut the gift from pink paper and melon core'dinations. Assemble using foam pads.
  5. Use the permanent marker to cover the silver peel off sentiment and stick as shown. Embellish corners with gem stones to finish off.
