Ismakie Challenge #13

Well, its already past midnight and I have just finished crafting. Impatient as I am, I can't wait till tomorrow to upload my new card. This morning I was commissioned by a colleague of mine to make him a Wedding Card for his son and daughter-in-law to be. It was quite unexpected but I always like having an excuse to craft. He wished to have green and/or blue on the card. The papers I used are the closest colours I had at home. Unfortunately, the colours in the picture are not so true to the real card. For the actual colours you can visit the link below.

Ismaki Challenge #13: This is my first Ismaki Challenge and the first time I actually followed someone else's sketch. Thanks to Petra who provided this sketch. I had to make some changes as it was a pity to hide the doodles on the left hand corner of the backing sheet. Well, I hope you like it. As always please feel free to leave any comments and don't be shy of being honest - constructive criticism is always beneficial.

Materials:

PMA 41352 Paper Kit Classic
Ink it Up - Brown
Clear Embossing Powder
Zig emboss powder - Rainbow Sparkle
PMA 7850 Embellishment Kit - Yellow

Other Materials:
Brown Thread
Brown and Champagne Cardstock

Tools:

Ellison Design Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
Sizzix sizzlits Wedding Set
Edging Scissors
Hole punching tool kit
Heat Gun
Double sided tape
Foam tape

How To:

  1. Cut a brown blank card to the desired size and stick a light blue backing paper from Papermania Classic Collection.
  2. Cut a brown rectangle and then cut one side with scalloped scissors. Punch a hole in each scallop using the hole punching kit.
  3. Cut a diamond backing paper from the same Papermania kit in such a way as to leave the scallops showing from underneath. Cut a heart shape from the brown cardstock.
  4. Die cut three times the bride and groom with the die cutting machine and assemble as shown. Heat emboss the blue areas of the bride using the Rainbow sparkle embossing powder. (I am afraid it does not show on the scan)
  5. Stick bride and groom to heart and then assemble the panels as shown.
  6. Sew brown thread to flower and stick just below the panel.
  7. Heat emboss the sentiment on champagne cardstock using brown pigment ink and clear embossing powder. Then stick to brown cardstock and Trim as shown. (Alternatively, you can draw an outline and then cut).
  8. Stick the final panel as shown in the picture.
