Friday Sketchers and Papertake Weekly

Carol on Friday's Sketcher's has provided a fantastic sketch this week. The Papertake Weekly asked for Hearts and Flowers. Without planning, I managed to use both!
Once again, I tried to give my Valentine's Card the shabby chic look and am quite pleased with the result I achieved after about two hours matching and rematching patterned paper and heat embossed flourishes.

Materials:

Love Collection Kit '08 by Papermania
From the Garden stamps by Fancy Pants
Heat it Up - Sea Foam White embossing powder
Black, White and Watermark ink by Ink it UP
Red cardstock
Chipboard
White Glitter from the Glitter Pot
Funky Buttons by Making Memories
Thread and Needle

Tools:

Scallop Edged scissors
Heat Gun
  1. Cut a panel from red cardstock measuring slightly smaller than the cardblank and distress using white and then black ink. Cut another panel from pink patterned measuring 0.5cm smaller than the red panel. Sand the edges and distress using white ink

  2. Cut a red panel measuring measuring slightly smaller than half the card blank. I reduced each panel by 0.5 cm each.

  3. Stamp the flourish, first using watermark ink and then white pigment ink, giving the stamp a generous amount of ink each time. Stamp the flourish at the bottom edge.

  4. Cut a heart from chipboard, cover in glue and cover with white glitter. Trace the heart shape on red cardstock and cut using scalloped scissors so as to leave a small red border. Distress the letter using white and black ink once more.

  5. Assemble the panels and cover the edge where they meet with ribbon. Thread the buttons and stick everything as shown.

Wonderful card Josianne. I love that floral swirl.
Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog too. You were asking if I had bought the flowers I had on my card or if I had made them.
I made them with 3 sizes of circle punch, distressed the circles and the edges and popped them together with brads.
I'd seen circle flowers on other blogs and I thought they looked fab. I just distressed mine for a little something different. :)
