Forever Yours - Wedding Shaker card

It took me some time to finish this card but I was very pleased with the way it turned out, especially since it was for a good friend of mine who got married today. Once again, I went for another shaker card.  I just came to love these card.  They are so three dimensional.

At the DCM, we were challenged to use sapphire on the the card. I'll be honest with you, for some reason, I was always daunted with these type of challenges but thought of having a go at it this year. So ladies at the DCM, I hope this fits the bill, :)

Sketch Saturday

Here is the last card I made for Mother's Day this year and it actually is one of my favourite cards. I just love the reds and gold on this one. I am posting this for Sketch Saturday and Daring Cardmakers - Hope you like it.

Materials:

K & Co Classic K Mc Kenna Papers
Cuddly Buddly image
Papermania Silk Flower
Prima paper flowers
Gold Glitter
Faber Castell Water Colours
White Gel Pen
Anita's Dimensional Glue
Mini Brads - Doodble Bug Designs
Hodge podge - metal label
Ribbon

Tools:

Big shot Sizzix machine
Sizzix Decorative Accents
Scalloped Dotted border - Martha Stewart Punch

How to:
  1. Trim the paper panels following the sketch provided on Sketch Saturday.
  2. Stamp and colour in the image. Use a white gel pen to add that extra sparkle on the shoes, leaves and hat. Cover the flowers and bow with Anita's dimensional glaze for that extra pizazz (unfortunately it doesn't show on the pic)
  3. Punch the border, trim a piece of paper to fit the labe and add the letters to it. Attach the ribbon and metal label frame with double sided tape.
  4. Fix the flowers with a mini brad. Die cut the accents, add glue and sprinkle some glitter. Attach underneath the flower.

Do not forget my blog candy ending 30 May!

DCM and Cupcake Challenge

Here is my take for the DCM challenge for this week where we had to "Feeling Green". I would also like to submit this for the Cupcake Challenge, even though I made the envelope myself (I hope that still counts).
I will be using this envelope for my forthcoming blog candy, which I will be holding soon, very soon. So keep visiting and I will give you the details in later posts.

I apologize for the photo, but didn't seem to get the light right.

Details: Another Christmas Card & Sprinkles

I have made this card which covers three challenges Papertake Weekly where we were asked to make a Christmas card, Daring Cardmakers asked us to use sprinkles and I used glitter to cover the stars on the Christmas three (see photo 3) and for the Cute Card Thursday's Challenge the theme was "In the house". This was the most difficult as I did not have any images with this theme, however, I tried to be creative and created a window and curtains overlooking a Christmas tree and some presents. (Apologies for photos - tried my best, lol!)

I have learnt that details are an integral part of cardmaking. The first photo shows a picture of the card without any details and the second shows how a some ribbon and extra embellishment can put the card up a notch.

Materials:

Be Mine, Blush by Basic Gray
Birthday Gifts, Anita's Outline stickers
Green and red card stock
Red Glitter
Gold ric rac
Fibra markers
Anita's clear Christmas stamp

Tools:

Paper Trimmer

How to:

  1. Cut a square red card blank (15 by 15). Then cut an aperture 1 inch away from the edges. Stick acetate behind it.
  2. Draw curtain shapes from the patterned paper, cut and embellish with gold ric rac. Attach behind the acetate.
  3. Stamp the Christmas tree on green card stock and use red glitter glue to cover the stars.
  4. Stick peel off sticker on white card stock and colour in. Cut around it, trimming extra card stock where necessary. Stick both tree and gifts on the inside of the card so as to be visible behind the acetate.
Thanks for looking and don't forget to participate in the BLOG CANDY!

Do Crafts Challenge Winner / DCM

I was very pleased this morning when I got the do crafts package from the post. I had won the Challenge of the Week and won some goodies (Colossal Antique Cream Papers and the Mini Embellishment Kit used below). You can imagine what I did next - Of course I started scrapping. Guess what?! I think the card I made fits well the Challenge set by the Daring Cardmakers team so thought of adding it in!

This morning my mum had to undergo a minor operation so I had the perfect occasion to create a 'Get Well Soon' Card with the Papermania papers.

Materials:

PMA 321 Colossal Antique Cream - Creative Tones by Papermania
PMA 7786 Neutrals by Papermania
29001 Whispers Strokes Brush Markers -Basic Colours
PMA 7850 Mini Embellishment Kit - Yellow
PMA 41352 Paper Kit - Classic
PWR 71303 Embossing Powder Gold (28803)

Tools:

Heat Gun

How To:

  1. Cut a Square card blank and a heart flower paper the same size as the card and use it as backing paper.
  2. Faux stitch a border round the edges of the paper using a brown brush marker and stick a ribbon from the embellishment kit to the paper using double-sided tape.
  3. Cut a Circle from the brown paper in the Classic Paper Kit. You can stick to chip board for added strength. Emboss 'Get Well Soon' on the circle using gold powder.
  4. Fill in flowers from the Creative Tones Paper using the brown brush marker, cut them out and stick around the circle leaving as shown.
  5. Stick a two silk flowers and attach to card using a brad from the embellishment kit.

Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think about the card!
